CONCORD, N.H., Oct. 20 -- The New Hampshire Democratic Party issued the following news release:
For months, Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Senator Maggie Hassan have been fighting for bipartisan measure to stabilize health insurance markets and stop the Trump Administration's sabotage efforts. In doing so, they secured critical priorities in the bipartisan Alexander-Murray health care bill that New Hampshire'sInsurance Department has said are critical for consumers in the Granite State -- including changes to the 1332 waver process to enable New Hampshire to create a reinsurance program and ensuring that cost-sharing reduction payments get made.
Instead of working to push President Trump and Congressional Republicans to support this bipartisan plan, Sununu said on Wednesday that he would "never pressure the president."
NHDP Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement:
"Governor Sununu is refusing to lift a finger to pressure President Trump and Congressional Republicans to support the bipartisan health care stabilization bill that includes critical New Hampshire priorities that Senators Shaheen and Hassan helped secure. Sununu needs to put the health and well-being of hard-working Granite Staters before partisan politics and join our Congressional delegation's efforts to actually get results and lower health care costs for our state."
