July 08--BB&T completes acquisition

WINSTON-SALEM -- BB&T Corp. (NYSE: BBT) announced that BB&T Insurance Holdings, Inc. (BB&T Insurance) has completed its acquisition of Regions Insurance Group (Regions Insurance) from Regions Financial Corp. (NYSE: RF). Terms were not disclosed. Regions Insurance is a leading insurance broker serving more than 60,000 clients across the Southeast, Texas and Indiana. It offers property and casualty and employee benefits products to businesses through a retail network of insurance professionals. This acquisition adds incremental balance to BB&T's insurance business between its wholesale and retail insurance channels. With the completion of this acquisition, BB&T Insurance's retail network will contribute almost half of its insurance brokerage revenue.

Goodwill hosts hiring event

BOA announces cash dividends

CHARLOTTE -- Bank of America Corp. announced July 5 that its Board of Directors has authorized regular cash dividends on the outstanding shares or depositary shares of several series of preferred stock. Each series of preferred stock, other than Series F and Series G, is represented by depositary shares. Dividend payments are made on a quarterly basis for each series of preferred stock, other than Series X, Series AA, Series DD and Series FF, for which dividends are paid on a semi-annual basis. SECU aids March of Dimes

RALEIGH -- State Employees' Credit Union (SECU) recently celebrated another successful year of fund-raising for March of Dimes with staff in the Triangle and surrounding areas raising nearly $50,000 through a variety of efforts, including organized fund-raisers and individual donations. Team SECU also came out in full force for this year's March for Babies walk, setting a new record with 350 Credit Union employees and family members hiking three miles together in honor of those affected by premature birth.
