Seniors leave 17 on base in two-game sweep
Columbus' five errors in Game 1 overshadowed a six-hit, complete-game performance from pitcher
The Seniors battled at the plate, earning eight walks compared to South Sioux City's one, while tallying five hits. But nine stranded Columbus base runners allowed South Sioux to get the win.
"We got to compete better. I thought we were a little lethargic. I didn't think we came out ready right from the get-go and that was pretty obvious I thought," Seniors head coach

The Seniors produced a total of four hits, three of which came in the final two innings, in the 3-1 loss.
"Dylan made a special trip back here tonight to pitch. I asked him if he would and he said, 'Yeah, OK.' We've got to take advantage of it when he comes out and throws," Schilling said.
Both teams committed three errors and stranded eight runners in the second game, but a close call on an out at home plate in the sixth inning, which could have given Columbus its first run of the contest, shifted the momentum back to South Sioux City.
"I'll take the heat on that one. Maybe I shouldn't of sent him, but I thought we really needed a run there," Schilling said. "I thought maybe that we could get some momentum going for us, even in that inning, to where we could make something happen."
South Sioux City took a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning on two hits, a walk and a Columbus error.

"I think we just got to make sure when we come out here every day, whether it's practice or games, that we are putting forth our best effort. I thought today we were a little lackadaisical and I'll take the heat for that. Maybe I just didn't have them ready to play," he said.
"We're getting close to that time of year when everything starts to matter. We can't afford to come out and throw a stinker out there," coach Schilling added.
