The FCIC helps facilitate a stable agriculture economy by promoting the necessary research and expertise to devise and implement crop insurance. The Board is also responsible for approving new policies and plans or any modifications to existing crop insurance plans. The FCIC is managed by a Board of Directors under the general supervision of the Secretary and the
Clemens started farming in 1975 and has carried crop insurance for the entirety of his farming career. He and his wife have worked their family farm for 37 years, and currently farm with their eldest daughter, her husband and their son. The family currently produces corn, barley, soybeans and spring wheat and have also grown sunflowers, edible beans, winter wheat, canola, crambe and carrots in the past.
