Sen. Cassidy Introduces Bill to Protect Health Insurance Consumers from Surprise Billing

WASHINGTON, May 18 -- Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., has introduced legislation (S. 1531) to amend the Public Health Service Act to provide protections for health insurance consumers from surprise billing.
The bill was introduced on May 16 and has 11 co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Sens. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., Todd Young, R-Ind., Margaret Wood Hassan, D-N.H., Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, Thomas R. Carper, D-Del., Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska, Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., Benjamin Cardin, D-Md., John Kennedy, R-La., and Robert Casey Jr., D-Pa.
