Sen. Brown Announces More Than $2 Million for Fire Rescue Facility in Seneca County

WASHINGTON, July 24 -- The office of Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, issued the following news release:
Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded a $2,047,000Rural Development loan to the Bascom Joint Fire District to construct a new fire rescue facility that will replace the current building. These funds will help the Bascom Joint Fire District continue to serve the Village of Bascom as well as Hopewell, Liberty, Loudon and Jackson Townships.
"Ohio firefighters and first-responders work every day to protect our families," said Brown. "This investment will ensure the Bascom Joint Fire District has the resources it needs to keep Seneca County residents safe."
The funds for this new facility are a part of the USDA'sRural Development initiative. Brown helped secure a strong Rural Development title in the 2014 Farm Bill, and is continuing to advocate for Rural Development programs in the 2018 Farm Bill.
