Rep. Pelosi Issues Statement on Proposed Health Premium Hikes in Maryland, Virginia
Targeted News Service
WASHINGTON, May 7 -- House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-California, issued the following statement after the news that health insurers in Maryland and Virginia are proposing premium increases in the Affordable Care Act marketplaces for 2019:
"From day one, President Trump and the Republican Congress have spitefully worked to sabotage Americans' health care and drive up families' premiums. Now, millions of Americans are facing unnecessary premium hikes as a direct result of the provisions of the GOP tax scam and the Trump Administration's effort to push families into shoddy junk health plans.
"Families are suffering because of the raw deal Republicans have been giving them on health care. Democrats are offering A Better Deal to protect and improve the health law by lowering premiums and out-of-pocket costs and to take bold action to drive down the cost of prescription drugs."
