QHotels Health Clubs launch campaign to increase awareness of Health & Fitness Retirement Planning
Travelling, helping out family, spending more time on hobbies, volunteering and fulfilling a lifetime goal have been voted among the nation's top activities they most want to do when they retire proving that age is no barrier when it comes to wanting to stay active.

For those that do currently exercise the survey reveals that walking is the most popular form of exercise for a quarter of those polled followed by going to the gym (15%), running (12%), cycling (10%) and swimming (3%).
In addition, over 32% of respondents said they felt stressed very often or often. More women report feeling stressed quite often or often (38%) compared to 26% of men. People aged 18 to 24 years report feeling the most stressed (45%) compared to just 21% of the over 55s.
Twenty five per cent of people would like to retire before the age of 60 years with 31% of 18 to 24 year olds choosing this option. Over 63% see retirement as an opportunity to travel, 41% are looking forward to seeing and helping out family more often, 25% want to spend more time on a hobby, 15% on volunteering and 10% see it as a chance to fulfil a life-long ambition or goal.
With some 60% already having considered if they will be fit and well enough to participate in their chosen activities and interests, 52% said it would be useful to have a health & fitness retirement plan with over a third wanting it to start in line with work place pensions or more than 10 years before retirement.
