Park commission moves forward after fire

During Thursday's meeting Watkins and Godfrey began working through a list of items that were destroyed in the garage. All items will be turned into the county's insurance.
Godfrey said he met with an insurance adjuster Tuesday afternoon who has began the claim process.
While the board waits on word from the insurance copy, Martinez and Watkins will use donated equipment to keep up on the park maintenance.
"We need to have the stuff to work with as soon as possible," Watkins said.
In the days after the fire several people who are regular walkers at the park have donated hand tools to the park for use.
The board is looking at constructing a new building that is 24-foot by 36-foot and 12-foot high. A new concrete pad will replace the charred pad that currently sits at the edge of the parking lot.
Thursday's discussion also centered around the need to install cameras at the park to protect the Community Center and the new maintenance building when it is constructed.
Godfrey said that he has been in talks with the Hillsdale County Commissioners and plans are in the works to install cameras.
