What are your thoughts on addressing residents' concerns about growth without infringing on property owners' rights?
BECKWITH: Growth and property rights concerns are best addressed on a case-by-case basis determining the highest and best use of property and in relation to the city's future vision. Property owners' rights include a responsibility to be good neighbors in bringing growth that improves value and choices for our residents.
HERBIG: Multifaceted approach. Manage, control and inspect what we expect approach but with an initial front to back review of our Comprehensive Plan.
MARTIN: When a deed is signed, the signer agrees to abide by the regulations of the municipality (and HOA where applicable). The signer becomes part of a community. Any proposed changes to the regulations must consider the property rights of others in that community. We are in this together.
OWEN: The solution is higher standards. NSB should develop and enforce high standards for residential and commercial development with regards to densities, design, and environmental impacts. This will drive quality over quantity, and provide growth at sustainable levels that will continue to enhance NSB for residents and business owners.
