New Insured Retirement Institute Hire Bolsters State Advocacy Efforts
WASHINGTON, June 18 -- The Insured Retirement Institute (IRI) welcomed Chelsea Crucitti as Director of State Affairs. Crucitti will provide leadership and support for IRI state regulatory and legislative issues and work with member companies to develop effective government affairs and compliance programs that meet their business needs.
This is Crucitti's second term at IRI after serving a similar advocacy role two years ago before departing for a stint in private law practice in her native Vermont.
"We are very excited to bring Chelsea back to IRI, especially at a time when there are so many important state issues affecting our members," said Wayne Chopus, IRI president and CEO. "We published our first ever State Retirement Security Blueprint earlier this year, and with Chelsea's experience and expertise, she is well-equipped to represent IRI members' interests on those critical state concerns."
Crucitti began her career in state government affairs as an intern in the Vermont State Senate before joining KSE FOCUS LLP in Montpelier, Vermont where she focused on tracking and reporting on nationwide legislation and regulations impacting the financial services, health insurance, and telecom industries.
Crucitti moved to Washington, D.C. in 2009 to work as a state lobbyist for the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) and then the Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA). In those capacities, Crucitti worked with members to develop nationwide policy and guided legislative strategy across the country.
Crucitti earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of Vermont in 2006 and graduated summa cum laude from Charlotte School of Law in 2016. She is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and Vermont.
