This program stems from the Disaster Recovery Act of 2016, which directed
NCEM has already assembled a wealth of data, resources, and technical expertise from state agencies, the private sector, and the UNC system to support the development of innovative best practice strategies that might be implemented.
Wilmot said the focus areas of these strategies will be residential housing and rental stock, infrastructure, ecosystem, and jobs, business, and economic growth.
"The program empowers communities across the state to prepare locally driven recovery plans to identify redevelopment strategies, innovative reconstruction projects, and other needed actions," Wilmot said.
