Mass. joins pilot program to rate addiction treatment providers
Rating systems exist for many other health care and commercial sectors, bringing transparency and information on program quality to the public, which can help guide decisions -- but no such system exists for addiction treatment, according to information on Shatterproof's website.
To fill this gap, Shatterproof's rating system will standardize quality expectations for addiction treatment programs across all levels of care and types of treatment, from detox to treatment to rehab and maintenance. This will allow market forces to drive adoption of evidence-based best practices and track quality improvement.
