According to the probable cause affidavit prepared by
Vaughn did not see Dorrell near the vehicle, so he parked and waited for the vehicle to leave in an attempt to make contact with Dorrell, the affidavit states.

The deputy then activated his emergency siren and notified dispatch that he was in pursuit of the vehicle traveling east on
The vehicle was seen by the deputy drive across
Vaughn wrote that he could see Dorrell running away from the vehicle towards the back of the house and drew his weapon before chasing Dorrell, the affidavit states.
According to the affidavit, Dorrell ran into the woods, onto the railroad tracks and back into the woods before jumping a fence. Vaughn wrote in the affidavit that he lost sight of Dorrell's hands as he was on the ground and pointed his weapon at Dorrell ordering him to stop and show the deputy his hands.
Dorrell complied and placed his hands behind his back before he was taken into custody without incident, Vaughn wrote in the affidavit.
A man was inside the home working in the bathroom closest to the corner where the home was struck and told deputies that he was knocked to the floor and came outside in time to see Vaughn chasing Dorrell, the affidavit states.
