Loyal pup saves woman from fire
"I was sleeping and Joey was on the foot of the bed," said Sell, 46. "Then he came up to me and was rolling all over my chest and started licking my mouth."
As she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes, Sell said she had a weird taste in her mouth and she was disoriented.
Little did she know that her 5-year-old Bichon Frise probably saved her life.
She was experiencing the early signs of what could have been fatal smoke inhalation.
"Everything was all hazy," she said.
She felt her door, and it was cool.
"I opened up the door, and a wall of black smoke hit me in the face," Sell said.
So she grabbed Joey, wearing only a nightgown, and ran outside to safety.

Her father and sister arrived shortly after that.
"My sister got there and took her shoes off her feet and gave them to me," Sell said.
Enough smoke, water and fire damage rendered her home unlivable, so Sell is staying with family.
A family member, who owns the home, does have insurance, Flynn said.
Sell is not having an easy time; she suffers from Crohn's Disease.

But she had just purchased groceries the night before and has lost money that hasn't been replaced.
"I feel like I'm lost," Sell said. "I feel like I'm stuck. But without Joey, I wouldn't be here to feel anything."
Sell has had Joey since he was born.
"He's like a service dog to me," she said. "He helps me out a lot."
In fact, Sunday was the second time Joey has saved her life.
"I went into anaphylactic shock before," Sell said. "He woke me up, and my sister and mom were able to get me to the hospital in time."
She said Joey is very intelligent.
"My mom says he went to college," she joked.
