He said the best part of starting his own business is "the fact that I get to serve others everyday or protect some of their biggest assets. It brings me a lot of pride."
He also enjoys "being a part of the community and serving the community," reflected by his participation in numerous civic activities. He's chair of the
Professionally, he said, "(I hope) that I glorify God, in the way I act, the way I treat people, customers, clients. I hope to make an impact on the people I work with, that when they end their career, they feel fulfilled, glorified God and served their community well."
Personally, faith saw him through the most difficult time of his life.
In
"The community made me feel loved and supported during those tough times," Martinez said, adding he came to the realization that he did not have control, that he had to have faith and place his trust in God.
"My faith is what really got me through it. God got us through it. I have a strong family and support system, staying positive, through it all," he said.
Gabi, now 5, is fine, for which he is most grateful.
As an insurance provider, he feels the responsibility of helping others through their tough times and respects the trust they place in his agency.
All of that comes together in the four major goals he aims to accomplish by the end of his own career -- "to glorify God, serve my family, serve my team and serve our community."
