Idaho Agent’s License Revoked
The Idaho Department of Insurance has revoked the insurance producer license of Malorie Warner for submitting an insurance claim for a medical procedure that did not occur.
Warner, a Rexburg resident, admitted to one violation. She was fined $8,500, of which $7,000 was suspended. Her license was revoked effective April 3, a Department of Insurance news release said.
According to the Stipulation and Final Order, Warner admitted to one violation of section 41-1016(l)(e) of Idaho Code in the misrepresentation of a material fact to an insurance transaction.
The Department of Insurance alleged Warner violated that section of code on 10 separate occasions and that she also violated section 41-1016(l)(h) on 10 separate occasions.
"The parties agreed to settle this matter without the necessity of a full hearing," the Stipulation and Final Order said.
AFLAC referred information to the Department of Insurance regarding the potential insurance fraud. Department investigators retrieved bank deposit records and insurance claim forms to aid in verifying the violation.
Warner was an associate with AFLAC from August 2011 to September 2015. The alleged misrepresentations occurred in 2012 and 2014. Warner will not be allowed to reapply for an insurance producer license for five years and until the entire penalty is paid.
"Insurance fraud perpetrated by licensed agents is particularly egregious," Department Director Dean Cameron said in the release. "We hold them to a high standard of professionalism and honesty. Any misconduct on their part not only harms consumers, but also harms the reputation of the industry."
