Health Careers Training Starting in August
Several
Medical Billing and Coding is an online course that is taught in two parts across the fall semester. It leads to a certificate from the college and the opportunity to seek certification as a Certified Professional Coder from the
Part I introduces medical terminology and anatomy and physiology. It also teaches the fundamentals of medical coding, billing, and insurance. Part II covers health insurance and selecting appropriate diagnostic and procedure codes, as well as legal, moral, and ethical issues.
An Activity Director course that provides the qualifications necessary to work as an activity director in a healthcare-related setting will be taught this fall. It includes 60 hours of classroom instruction and 30 hours of clinical experience in an approved skilled nursing facility.
Also offered will be Nurse Aide II. It gives students who have completed Nurse Aide I more complex skills for working with patients or residents of skilled nursing facilities. Upon satisfactory completion of the course, graduates are eligible to apply for listing as a Nursing Aide II by the
