Government’s Unpaid Risk Corridor Tab Swells To $12.3B
The federal government’s unpaid balance for the Affordable Care Act risk corridor program has now ballooned to $12.3 billion. Data released this week from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services show that insurers are owed about $4 billion for the 2016 benefit year. The expected payment toward the 2014 balance, meanwhile, was $25 million.
