Getting care for her mother and giving ‘LUV’ in return
"My mom would sometimes apologize and comment, 'When I get old, you will be too tired to take care of me,'" Mohammed says. "I assured her I would not be too tired to care for her, if and when the time comes. Well, the time came in 2012 and it's now 2018 and I still have the same sentiment."

What I love about
I love that my neighborhood is a small and friendly, I can walk to my office, and I'm close to the city and downtown area, and the beaches. I left paradise in
Q: Do you mind sharing your story of how you came to care for your mother?
A: I am my mother's only child, and I am who I am because of her encouragement, sacrifices and "must-do" attitude. Yes, I had both parents, but my mom had big plans for my life and she always emphasized that failure was not an option for me. Providing her with the proper at-home care is the least I can do for all she has done for me. I made a conscious decision to keep my mom in my home and ... I also strive to keep her physically and mentally active.
Our day begins with a daily caregiver arriving every morning to assist my mom with her daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, dental hygiene, serving meals and medications, and transporting her to

A: This has taught me that I am still committed to making my mom proud. I want my legacy to show that giving back and paying it forward was very important to me.
Q: What is the best advice you've ever received?
A: My grandmother used to say, "All things are possible, just believe. Do something spectacular in your life. And more importantly, always know you can make a difference in someone's life."

A: My nickname is Tootie, and I went to a Catholic boarding school where there were eight girls in my class, just like the sitcom "The Facts of Life." I also worked on a kibbutz in
