He also made a huge group of tenacious truth-seekers angry when he hurt one of our own. This is a group that has survived industry cutbacks and layoffs and has to have a thick skin to deal with constant criticism.
Today it's common to see people online ranting about "the media." How easy it is for Americans to figuratively shoot the messenger when the reality is that most news reporters in this country are mainly concerned about and focused on their own community. We are your neighbors who worry about covering city council meetings and Friday night football games.

But before we spiral into a discussion about politics, let's all just agree that we would never wish death to a person who is reporting the news. We can't possibly as a society believe that the people who dedicate their lives to upholding our constitution's First Amendment deserve to be killed. And we don't blame a president for the evil acts of one man.
