Cleveland County social worker killed in morning crash
"She was a people person and a true social worker. This was her calling," Pritchard said.
The young woman had only worked with DSS since April, but she dove into the deep end investigating cases of abuse and neglect, according to her supervisor.
"We are all mourning her loss," Pritchard said. "She made a positive impact on everyone she met."

She was trapped in her vehicle for several minutes as firefighters worked to pull her free.
At the scene, first responders said she suffered major injuries and was pinned in her car.

Her car was almost unrecognizable from the front. Fifty feet up the road was Pena-Villeda's silver sedan, its front bumper was torn off and laid several feet away. Debris was strewn across the two lanes and into the median.
Pena-Villeda had no license, registration or insurance for the car, Canipe said. Investigators are still unsure how fast he was going.
He is charged with reckless driving-wanton disregard, no operators license, operating a vehicle with no insurance, misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and driving a motor vehicle with no registration. He is held in
