Cicilline Statement on Senate Vote to Move Forward on Trumpcare

WASHINGTON - U.S. Congressman David N. Cicilline (D-RI) issued the following statement after the U.S. Senate voted to move forward on eliminating health care coverage for 23 million Americans:
"What the U.S. Senate did today is shameful. Not a single Senator who voted to move ahead on this bill even knows what will be in it. And neither do their constituents. This is not how government is supposed to work for the people it serves."
"Democrats have always been willing to work across the aisle to make the Affordable Care Act stronger. If Republicans move ahead on their own, it will mean higher costs and less coverage for working families. That's unacceptable."
"Members of Congress should want the very best for their constituents. And that's why I'm going to continue fighting to defeat this bill."
