Charlie Baker: Harvard Pilgrim ouster their decision
"I think Harvard Pilgrim is a private nonprofit, and they made a decision to remove their CEO. That's their decision," Baker told the Herald when asked if the company should reveal the details.
Schultz abruptly resigned this week after admitting to unspecified misbehavior that violated the company's code of conduct.
The tax-exempt nonprofit company has refused to say what that behavior was, or how much Schultz is being paid on his way out the door.
While Baker, who served as CEO of
"I think the big thing they need to do is make sure that they do their job on behalf of the people they serve and represent," Baker said. "The fact that the CEO resigned and stepped down is their business."
Baker said he and his family have Harvard Pilgrim health insurance.
The company is currently in merger talks with

One complaint, filed last July, remains open. The details of that complaint have not been made public.
