Targeted News Service (Press Releases)
WASHINGTON, June 18 -- The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee issued the following news release:
"Congresswoman McMorris Rodgers' record of voting to allow insurance companies to deny those with pre-existing conditions health coverage - and now deceiving voters about it - is clear. Quite simply, that dog won't hunt," - DCCC spokesperson Drew Godinich
RHETORIC: Rep. McMorris Rodgers, in a statement, said "For me, protecting people with pre-existing conditions isn't just good policy, it's a personal mission."
REALITY: She voted dozens of times to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which would've eliminated protections for those with pre-existing conditions, which the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office and Politifact confirmed would weaken protections for those with pre-existing conditions, including making health insurance unaffordable and jack up premiums. Furthermore, as a senior member of leadership, she is uniquely positioned to influence legislation and protect those with pre-existing conditions. She's refused to do so.
