DOWNERS GROVE, Illinois, July 10 -- The campaign of Sean Casten, a Democratic running for election in Illinois' 6th Congressional District, issued the following campaign statement on the President Trump's nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court:
"The nomination of Brett Kavanaugh is very troubling for those of us who support a woman's right to choose. We must watch very closely the upcoming hearings to determine if he/she would carry out the extreme Trump-Roskam agenda of reversing Roe v. Wade and, as Roskam has supported, banning abortions even for victims of rape.
"We must also be concerned that Judge Kavanaugh would strike down the Affordable Care Act, which Peter Roskam voted in Congress to do 60 times."
"The Supreme Court is the last line of defense for the fundamental rights of all Americans. We must make sure that those rights include access to affordable healthcare and a woman's right to choose."
