"My heart is truly broken," Noe said by email, adding that his plans to move the structure represented a "huge effort on my part."
"I can't blame Brown & Brown as they are just bean-counters working for the company," Noe said. "I had it all worked out in March. It would have been a great story with a happy ending."
"A pretty good deal?" Bove asked rhetorically. "He's coming out ahead in multiples of 10 with the property. I'm glad that most of those folks (bought out by Brown & Brown) made out well. I live in town. I might bump into these people again. It's easy to hate corporations, but they did the right thing down there by everyone."
The extension that allowed Noe to stay on the property through Monday was offered as a courtesy to allow him to close a deal on another home or remove the stone structure, Bove said.
