To participate in the NFIP, Loxahatchee Groves officials had to approve a set of rules designed to reduce flood losses, the town said in a news release.
Property owners in the town now can buy federal flood insurance under the program's Regular Phase. There is a 30-day waiting period before the coverage goes into effect.
