Residents also told the Daily Mail that some homes didn't live up to the promises offered by Pitt or by his nonprofit. Moreover, Make It Right also said it would come back and make repairs but has yet to do so, Austin said.
"We have some people who have gotten sick, or we believe to be sick," Austin said.
Following news of a potential lawsuit, Pitt reportedly asked Make it Right to try and rectify any problems with the homes and any legal issues, according to The Blast. Sources told The Blast that Pitt had encouraged the foundation to respond so the homeowners' needs. He's not involved in the nonprofit's daily needs, but has donated millions of dollars over the years to support it.
The Daily Mail published photos showing some of those homes, with roofs caving in, wood rotting and walls collapsing or falling away from the house. Some residents used their life savings, combined with federal relief funding, to buy the homes. But some found they couldn't keep up with the repairs and have abandoned them, the Daily Mail added. It was clear how many of the Make It Right homes were being cited as substandard.
"I don't know what the future is going to bring with this house or everybody else's house, but it's going downhill now," Dupar said.

Pitt used to be a regular presence in the neighborhood and at the Make It Right headquarters, the Daily Mail reported in July. But residents told the Daily Mail they haven't seen him for a couple of years.
