In 2016, the restaurant was closed for a month after the front door was hit. The second crash, which under a window, forced the business to close for few days. The money they received from insurance didn't make up for the lost business, said Kosmidis.
After the second crash Kosmidis said the gas company put barriers up around the gas tank. Further barriers couldn't be installed because they would cut off access to the handicap ramps, which would result in a fine.
Because the business is on a corner it makes it an easy target.
Kosmidis said he finally spoke with Mayor
"Stop signs, more reflectors, just more things for visibility," Kosmidis said. A traffic cop will also monitor the area during peak traffic hours.
The crashes have a little silver lining. Kosmidis said the extra attention to the restaurant has brought in some new customers, but he's thankful for the locals.
"We have our regulars, and they're loyal, so we're happy with that," he said.
