"I just couldn't believe it. It was sad to see this," he said. "I loved working here. It was like coming to a family."
Cunha, whose parents and siblings had also worked at the company at one time, said he booked an earlier flight home since he wasn't able to enjoy his trip after coworkers had texted photos of the blaze.
"Every time I drive by here, you want to cry, really," Cunha said. "The owner was like my father.
"I'm hoping he does rebuild," Cunha said. "I'm gonna stick with him all the way to the end."
