The main theme for the upcoming conference is mutual connections.
“The insurance industry in general is about connections,” said Goddard. “Within mutuality, because of the unique relationship between the carrier and the policyholder, the policyholder is essentially the owner of the mutual. That gives a very, very unusual and strong connection and bond. We want to reflect that in what we are doing within the AMICE.”
Goodard also highlighted the other themes the AMICE will focus on at its June conference.
“The conference will have a European focus. We will be looking at how our organization and members connect in the European sense. We will also be looking at the social side. Social economy is something in which we are a particularly big player,” she said.
In addition, Goodard sees the conference addressing aspects of a sharing economy, technology, how members are adapting to new models and paradigms in the insurance business, as well as responding to what the policyholders are really looking for to make their life easier.
