In both expansions, Roberts said, the facilities were needed to better serve residents, not because of additions to the force or a growing population.
"It's volunteer guys, so it's not like, you add a station, you bring in five new guys," Roberts said. "I think when we added a new station though, we added interest."
Expansion also doesn't mean the department will get any new money. The new Webster's Chapel station will place a fire department facility closer to the Williams community, but in reality neither the size of the jurisdiction or the number of people being served by the department will be altered. Roberts said those jurisdictions are set in stone.
