But no one knows better than a financial advisor how important it is to keep an eye on the future of the business and put plans in place for its continued success after the founder is out of the picture. “Ask a small business owner how she’s going to fund her retirement and she’ll say, ‘Sell the business.’ If only it were that simple!” says

In addition to an executive summary, Securian created business owner subreports that compare Gen X and Baby Boomers, provide insight into the women’s market, and identify concerns about the fiduciary issues related to offering defined contribution retirement (401k) plans for employees. The reports and a business strategies brochure are available at Securian.com/SmallButMighty.
Securian released a new campaign for financial advisors to use with small business owners that offers a large collection of materials including marketing pieces, presentations and the Business Lifecycle diagnostic tool. It helps business owners figure out where they are in their business cycle and identify needs regarding risk management, employee benefits, executive benefits and exit strategies. The campaign materials are available through Securian’s individual annuity and life insurance sales teams.
