Scouts honor BB&T exec for volunteer work

"The movies recently have been inundated with super heroes such as Captain America, Superman, Spider-Man, Thor and Batman," Tomlin said. "I like superheroes, but the real heroes today are those people who can meet the challenges of everyday life with honesty and integrity.
Farmer's son,
"One thing about my dad is he never quit," Farmer said. "If I had to pick one thing you taught me, it's determination.
"This is a well-deserving award and if there was a way that I could give out an honorary Eagle Scout award, I would definitely give it to you because you have deserved it after all your years of helping and experience."
After receiving the award, Farmer shared how much scouting has meant to his life and also encouraged continued financial support.
"For the past 16 years, scouting has been a big part of not only my life but also my family's life and I wouldn't change one thing about it," he said. "Scouting has given me more than I've given scouting. I've witnessed young men grow to become good leaders."
