Riverside’s Urgent Care Center In Tappahannock Welcomes New Doctor

PR Web

Tappahannock, VA (PRWEB) July 16, 2014

Riverside Health System is pleased to welcome Rosemary Enright, MD to the Riverside Urgent Care Center team in Tappahannock, Va.

Dr. Enright's addition rounds out the medical team offering treatment at the practice. She joins Kathy Shea, NP, who has been treating patients there since December 2013.

Dr. Enright earned her Bachelor's Degree from the College of William and Mary and attended medical school at the University of Virginia.

She chose to join the Riverside team after spending 28 years practicing in Stafford, Va.

At Urgent Care, patients come in with a variety of symptoms and Dr. Enright said she is looking forward to "assessing their urgent problem and giving patients the best care possible."

Getting patients healthy means getting them back to their active lives, which Dr. Enright enjoys herself, especially in the Tappahannock region.

When Dr. Enright's not in the clinic, she's likely out swimming, biking and sailing. Admittedly, she and her husband are thinking about retiring to the area.

Kathy Shea, a certified Family Nurse Practitioner, began treating patients at Riverside Urgent Care late last year.

Shea continues to be excited about "providing the best possible care" the day patients arrive to see her, and helping them then "integrate into primary care," where patients establish a relationship with a provider who provide ongoing prevention and treatment.

Nurse practitioners are advanced practice registered nurses having completed advanced classroom and clinical education beyond what is required of a generalist registered nurse. Nurse practitioners evaluate patients, diagnose, write prescriptions and bring a comprehensive perspective to health care, according to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Shea, who earned her Masters Degree in Nursing from Saint Louis University in Saint Louis, Missouri, came to the Riverside team from Southern Illinois. Deciding she wanted to be closer to her grandchildren, Shea made the move to the Tappahannock area after 15 years of working in family practice, internal medicine and Urgent Care.

Outside of the clinic, Shea is passionate about woodworking, stained glass, kayaking and her family, the very reason that brought her to Tappahannock.

Combined, Shea and Enright, allows the Urgent Care Center team to more robustly and effectively treat patients who come to Urgent Care.

Patients are encouraged to use Urgent Care when a family doctor is not available and the medical condition is not life-threatening, such as coughs and colds, dehydration, ear infections, the flu, insect bites, lacerations, minor infections and injuries, skin rashes or burns, sore throats, sprains and strains, urinary tract infections and wheezing.

Some insurance plans require patients to call primary care physicians the day after visiting the Urgent Care Center to obtain authorization. Riverside's team will assist patients in the process. Patients do no have to be a Riverside Medical Group patient to be seen by an Urgent Care Center physician or nurse practitioner. For patients who do not have a primary care physician, Riverside will assist in securing one.

The Urgent Care Center, located at 300 Mt. Clement Park, Suite A in Tappahannock, is open seven days a week from 9am-7pm.

While no appointments are required, Riverside Urgent Care in Tappahannock has partnered with InQuicker to provide a free and convenient way to wait in line. Patients can visit riversideonline.com from computers or smartphones and select an available time to check-in at the center.

InQuicker is not an appointment service, since the nature of urgent care does not allow for the scheduling of appointments. Instead, InQuicker estimates the treatment times based on facility conditions and allows users to wait in line from their living room rather than the waiting room.

For more information on the Urgent Care Center, visit http://www.riversideonline.com/rth/urgent-care.cfm or call 804.443.8610.
