"The sign is pretty and these things look very nice, but I'm really concerned about the safety of the people," Fullenkamp said at the time.

The city received
The project, which will take about 60 days, will be completed by next summer. It includes removing the median, filling it with asphalt, addressing any utility issues, installing a bi-directional turn lane and relocating the sign to the east side of Woodman in the public right-of-way.
Traffic is expected to be maintained throughout the project, with one travel lane in each direction. The average daily traffic count along that stretch of Woodman is in the mid-30,000s, Chodkowski said.
Several residents who live in the area spoke out against the median strip in that June council meeting. There are a few Woodman residents who are forced to turn in only one direction because of the median, which is 10 feet wide and 282 feet long.

The city's aesthetic improvement plan includes decorative entry signs, wayfinding signage, updating street signs and installing mast arm traffic signals, as funds are available in the budget, Chodkowski said.
"It's important for this community to clearly identify itself," he said. "Aesthetics matter. Based on our resources, we're not close to having that uniform yet, but we're working our way through it."
