What sounds simple proved difficult against
"We have to go back and work on our two-strike approach at the plate," said Ironton coach
"We cannot have 11 strikeouts and expect to win. If you have 11 strikeouts, you left the defense off the hook. They only had to make 10 plays in the field and several of those were fly outs. You have to eliminate strikeouts and put the ball in play. We just did not get it done."
Rutherford didn't walk a batter and gave up five hits in the complete game win.
With one out,
The Fighting Tigers made it 3-0 in the third when
The Hornets (11-6) took the lead with a five-run fourth inning.
Miller moved up on a passed ball,
"One thing is for certain, we will keep working and remain positive," said Goodwin.
