Both Gladys and Larry were very active in church. Gladys taught Sunday School and VBS, sang alto in the choir, and did many art/ craft projects whenever needed, including painting the stable backdrop for Goldendales Nativity Scene and a full mural in a preschool Sunday School room at church.
Gladys was always a very generous, creative lady. She rarely spent money on herself, yet always gave all she had to her children and other family and friends. She loved music, art, drama, and literature and took art lessons as an adult. She bought a piano with her very first paycheck and years later, gave it to a family who wanted their children to take piano lessons. Other favorite pastimes were traveling to various national parks after her husbands retirement, crossword puzzles and Jeopardy, and she even tried her hand at bowling, a passion of her husband, Larry.
Family and friends were always amazed at Gladys' stamina to bounce back from many major health issues. She survived colitis, tuberculosis, kidney disease, cancer, heart failure, and other problems as well. Each time, prayer saved her and Gladys and her family gave God the glory for being healed, and now she has entered her permanent healing at home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus.
Gladys' wit and sweet spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by daughter:
