"These are for my four grandkids," she said. "This is the first time I have ever done this for my grandkids. I come here to the clinic for my doctor and heard about picking up toys for kids or grandkids."

"We have two kids and my wife and I are on disabilities. I work part-time and this really helps out. I come here for my medical needs, as I can't afford insurance," Miles said.
"The clinic is wonderful. They are always there with open arms, just wonderful people."
"For our patients here, we put out request forms and asked that the children live within the household. They provided the name of the children, the sex of the child and the age of the child," Ann said. "We then gave a list to firemen."
Gifts range from board games such as Battleship, to remote cars, make-up and perfume, DVDs, skateboards and basketballs, among other items. Seprodi said firefighters purchased toys for children from newborn up to 17 years old.

This year, the firefighters' toys will really help, as other donations are down "which I know is because of the economy," Winston said.
"For some of the families, this is what they get. They don't get anything else. The fire department, what they have done, is sincerely a really big help to make sure the needs of the families are met," she said.
"I always say God has a ram in the bush and the fire department happened to be that ram. They stepped up and they filled in where we lost on other places, which to me, is really awesome," Winston said.
The toys will be distributed to children on Friday, she said.
While at the community center, firefighters took some safety action for the holiday. Lt.
