SPY Stock indices slip back slightly off resistances in midday trade -Update- -Technical-
The S&P flirted with its June peak/range top, 200 sma/38% retrace of slide off April high at 1105/1109 (session high 1105.91) this morning with a minor pullback extended in recent action; Dow tested 200 sma/38% retrace at 10316/10330 (session high 10328); Nasdaq Comp paused at 2270/2278 area noted in The Technical Take (session high 2278). As mentioned in the S&P 11:38 update this is the third day of a substantial upside extension, it was back near resistance and today marks a Fibonacci 34 days off the April high (see earlier update for chart of other Fib days). Pressure has been limited thus far and an S&P push back through 1101/1102 intraday resistance would argue that this slip is merely a short lived pause off the morning high.
