To purchase Everest's assets the Company has agreed to issue 200,000 shares of its common stock and to make an aggregate cash payment of $1,000,000 to Everest to be used, in part, for final reclamation of two properties previously mined and restored by Everest.08:03C Citigroup announces that Willem Buiter will join the Firm as Chief Economist effective January 2010 (4.08 )08:03DPTR Delta Petroleum announces review of strategic alternatives (0.92 )Co announces that it has retained Morgan Stanley and Evercore Partners to evaluate and advise the Board of Directors on strategic alternatives to enhance shareholder value. The company also reaffirmed its previously announced revenue and earnings per share guidance for the quarter ending December 31, 2009 and the full fiscal year ending June 30, 2010, as set forth in the press release issued on October 29, 2009 under the heading "Financial Guidance as of October 29, 2009." In early 2008, the company announced that it expected third-party revenue from membership rewards programs to decline over time, possibly to as low as $0 by the end of calendar 2010, primarily as a result of its strategy of rapidly expanding its own product and services offerings and diversifying the types of non-membership, third-party products and services made available to the company's customers on its website. Since then revenue from membership programs has decreased from 6.2% of Vistaprint's total revenue for the 2008 full fiscal year ended June 30, 2008 to 2.3% of revenue during the first fiscal quarter of 2010 ended September 30, 2009. "Although our decision to end the Vertrue relationship during our second fiscal quarter will result in a lower contribution from membership programs to both our revenues and net income for the year, we believe this reduction will not impact our ability to achieve our previously issued financial guidance," said Michael Giannetto, the company's chief financial officer. "Therefore, we are reaffirming our revenue and earnings per share guidance for the 2010 second fiscal quarter and full fiscal year, which we previously announced in a press release issued on October 29, 2009." Vistaprint's termination of the Vertrue relationship and elimination of all membership program offerings is in line with the company's previously stated strategy. The company believes it is also appropriate at this time in light of the recent United States Senate Commerce Committee inquiry into a variety of membership rewards programs, including the sufficiency of their disclosures to consumers. Lawrence Gold, the company's general counsel, commented that "Vistaprint's website clearly disclosed the terms of the Vertrue membership programs previously offered to Vistaprint customers in conformity with all legal requirements, as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas ruled when it dismissed a purported class action lawsuit against a Vistaprint subsidiary and two Vertrue-related entities in August of this year."08:01RSO Resource Capital announces common stock follow-on offering of ~ $50 mln (5.15 )08:01FSS Federal Signal sells Pauluhn Electric Assets to CBE (5.56 )Cooper Industries (CBE) announced the acquisition of Texas-based Pauluhn Electric from Federal Signal Corporation (FSS). The research demonstrated through cancer cell assays and animal tumor models that the bis-platinum complexes exhibited greater cytotoxic potency and anti-tumor effect compared to cisplatin and oxaliplatin. There was more than a 200-fold increase in percent accumulation in tumor cells of the bisplatinum compounds compared to cisplatin and oxaliplatin. The bisplatinates were substantially more active against human tumors grown in an immunodeficient preclinical model than the standard palatinate compounds, oxaliplatin, carboplatin and cisplatin. Furthermore, the bis-platinum compounds demonstrated the ability to overcome tumor resistance to cisplatin mediated by DNA mismatch repair defects. The complexes showed marked anti-tumor efficacy in platinum refractory tumors, with significant activity in terms of tumor growth inhibition and tumor growth delay.07:39On The WiresPraxair (PX) China has signed a contract with Hainan China Aviation Special Glass Materials, a subsidiary of China Aviation Sanxin to supply oxygen and high purity nitrogen for a 100% oxy-fuel float glass furnace, the first of its kind in China... In part, this based on experience. "True to its traditional role of GEM diversifier, Israel has outperformed EM throughout each of seven major global corrections since 1993. Based on historical data from MSCIBarra, the MXIL Index outperformed the MXEF Index by an average of 23%. In the recent 2008-2009 sub-prime financial crisis, Israel outperformed emerging markets by 30%," analysts Haim Israel, Micha Goldberg, and Mai Doan write. The report gives five reasons for investing in Israel now: (1) resilient economic performance vs. GEM as the local recession ended two quarters ago; (2) lack of excess positioning as investors remain underweight Israel; (3) strong currency vs. the US dollar; (4) substantial domestic liquidity support; and (5) Israel's traditional role as GEM's beta diversifier. Besides Teva and the healthcare sector in general, Merrill Lynch picks out telecommunications, particularly Partner and Bezeq, and the banks, particularly Leumi and Mizrahi-Tefahot, as good bets. "Although Teva and the healthcare space are perceived by the market as natural candidates to park money in times of uncertainty, we believe this could be the time for Israeli banks and telcos to shine," the report says.07:26EIS Merrill Lynch: Now's the time for Israel - Globes[online]Globes[online] reports that Bank of America Merrill Lynch has come out with a report strongly recommending Israel as a defensive haven among emerging markets.
