BRIEF: Police arrest 2 on theft charges

July 14--Middlesboro police arrested two people after they allegedly attempted to push a 46-inch TV out of the store without paying for it.

Danny Reed Ward Jr., 32, and Eva Elaine Buell, 37, both of Pathfork, were charged with theft by unlawful taking.

According to the arrest citation, Ward and Buell went into Walmart and stole a TV valued at $548. The Samsung TV is valued at $548. The complaint also states the two stole a TV from Walmart valued at just over $470 in May.

Buell was also served a bench warrant. Ward was also charged with theft by unlawful taking (purse snatching). The two were lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.

Other recent arrest include:

-- David R. Singleton, 46, of Middlesboro, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, careless driving, excessive window tinting, failure of installer/seller to apply tinting label, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, failure to produce insurance card, rim or frame obscuring lettering or decal on plate and obstructed vision;

-- Tonya Partin, 35, of Middlesboro, theft by unlawful taking.
