BRIEF: Lorenzen Wright’s motorcycle to be auctioned

Aug. 16--The motorcycle of slain former NBA player Lorenzen Wright will be sold by his estate, according to Morris Auction Group.

The auction of the red 2008 custom motorcycle will be held at noon August 22 at the Auction Group, 2687 Mount Moriah Terrace.

Wright rode the motorcycle, built by Carl Brouhard and named "Quick Carl," only a few times, according to the group.

The killing of Wright, who played with the University of Memphis Tigers and the Memphis Grizzlies, remains unsolved.

A dispatcher in Germantown received a 911 call from his cellphone on July 19, 2010. A male voice said a garbled curse before gunshots were heard. Wright's body was found nine days later in a wooded area of southeast Memphis.

In May, his ex-wife Sherra Robinson agreed to a confidential settlement in a dispute over how she spent $1 million in insurance meant to benefit their six children.
