The Inland Marine Underwriters Association [IMUA] Unveils Agenda For 2016 Annual Meeting
The Inland Marine Underwriters Association (IMUA) announced its 2016 Annual Meeting will be held May 15-18, 2016 in San Diego, CA, at the Rancho Bernardo Inn. IMUA also released its 86th Annual Meeting Conference Agenda. Kicking off this year’s IMUA educational agenda will be the outlook for the property and casualty insurance industry in this “age of volatility”.
This year IMUA has secured Jacob Rosengarten, Chief Enterprise Risk Officer, XL Catlin, as its keynote speaker to address this all-important topic.In making the announcement of its Annual Meeting, IMUA President and CEO, Kevin O’Brien, said, “Our Education Committee has once again done an outstanding job in putting together key topics that are extremely relevant to assist our members in their day-to-day activities. And, they have secured knowledgeable professionals to address each topic.”O’Brien further noted that with the IMUA’s continuing emphasis on professional development, they will be offering its “Parallel Track” programming at this year’s Annual Meeting.
This program is geared toward newer, less experienced inland marine underwriting and claims personnel. The topics for the IMUA 86th Annual Meeting include:• Pre-Fab Modular Construction• Domestic Truck Transportation• Property & Casualty Insurance and the Internet of Things (IOT)• Builders Risk & Faulty Workmanship/LEG Provisions• Warehouse Supply Chain Issues: Security & Contractual Obligations “Our ‘Parallel Track,’ consists of a series of seminars and workshops patterned specifically after our Introduction to Inland Marine Course and will run parallel to the more in-depth educational sessions offered during the Annual Meeting.
Over the past several years, we have had such favorable response to this program, which is geared to those new to, or less experienced in, commercial inland marine insurance, we once again have included it as part of our agenda.
