Urbana, MD, March 25, 2015 – In 2014 Legal & General America shredded and recycled 96,250 pounds or 48.15 tons of paper materials.
According to The Shredding Company Inc, the firm used for secure document destruction, Legal & General America’s Urbana, MD office “has had a beneficial impact on the environment” by saving:
• 337,050 gallons of water
• 158.89 cubic yards of landfill space
• Greenhouse gas emissions by 48.15 metric ton of carbon equivalent (MTCE)
• 18,297 gallons of oil
• 818.55 trees
• Enough energy to power 48 average American homes for six months
