Texas rate of uninsured drops, but still leads the nation
The uninsured rate in the state has been on the decline, dropping from 22.1 percent in 2013 to 19.1 percent in 2014, as insurance became available through the Affordable Care Act. In 2015, there were about 4.6 million Texans without health insurance, as compared to 5 million in 2014. The rate of people with health insurance nationwide increased to 90.9 percent in 2015.
