This past weekend would have marked the 33rd annual festival, but Hurricane Matthew had different plans.
Organizers had said the festival would be held "rain or shine," but the loss of electricity, downed trees and flooding made that impossible.
"We aren't going to reschedule the event for this year -- it is too short of notice -- will just have to wait until next year," said
The festival did take a hit financially after paying contracted performers and the cost of festival grounds rental and insurance, according to Blue. It unclear if vendors will be be refunded.
"We did make money from the vendor fees, but we aren't going to leave them high and dry because the festival didn't happen," Blue said.
