Sugimoto says nothing has changed, even though he misses his old coach just a bit.
"All the coaches are the same. The same discipline, the same yelling. Practice is the same," he said.

After struggling defensively in the preseason -- nine errors in two games in Baldwin's tournament -- the Marauders are settling down. Pitching is certainly there with Sugimoto,
"I try to hit my spots," said Scanlan, a 6-2 junior who also plays football. "I mostly use my fastball and curve and mix in my knuckle-curve when I'm ahead."
Abreu is cautiously optimistic.
"We're getting through. The West is competitive," Abreu said. "It's the wild West. Hopefully, we can compete."
