The complaint by
Nieman alleges the officers drew their guns and ordered him to the ground after he made an attempt to compile with the request for his vehicle registration. To easily remove the registration, Nieman moved to the passenger side, but realized the door was locked, and proceeded around the front of the truck to return to the driver's side, according to the complaint.
The complaint states they also threatened to shoot him and then handcuffed him while keeping him face down on the ground. He was later released upon the arrival of

The vehicle used by the officers did not have video recording equipment, but Hally said he did not believe that would affect the case.

The lawsuit states Nieman's Fourth Amendment right was violated due to unreasonable seizure and his 14th Amendment right to liberty was violated when he was forcibly detained without just cause.

"We're going to stand by him, you bet," he said. "... I think our part in it is going to be proven to be totally righteous."
